1st First Thursday

I’m very pleased to report that more than a dozen hardy souls faced the sideways rain and made it along to First Thursday yesterday.  Even though many weren’t sure that they’d found the correct pub (it was a dark night).  And were further much confused when directed to a door with a sign saying ‘Ladies Downstairs’.  There is also a function room downstairs, which was where we were to be found.  (Note to Self: Bring sign for door next month)

There was much appreciation of the novelty of being able to have a pint rather than a coffee and chat about work, although also much agreement that even the hardy souls wouldn’t want a pint a 7am.

All in all the chat was great, the company was interesting and I think we can declare the night a success. We even attracted interest from some of the locals in the pub, who may join us next month.  This may, in part, be down to the offer or some light snacks from the management though.

We’re having A5 flyers printed at the moment for distribution throughout the Charing Cross and park districts, to reach out to the local business community.  If you have anyone you’d be interested in meeting and would like Girl Monday to extend an invitation, drop us a line.

I want to thank the staff and management of McPhabbs for making us welcome.  See you on the 3rd March for round 2.
